Ami Temarantz in the Lead Cultural Interpreter at the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington, DC.

The Cultural Interpreter Program provides inclusive and engaging educational experiences that inspire visitors to think critically about the persistence of social, economic, and racial inequalities in the indigenous nations of the Western Hemisphere.

Ami leads the development, training, and facilitation of these educational programs and mentors a team of four staff.

She began her Smithsonian career at the NMAI in 2011. Ami has a BA in Anthropology and a Museum Studies Certification from Connecticut College and an MA in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University.
